    • Thank you. I have had the image of a frost shadow, which I observed years ago while walking my dog in the early morning hours, stuck in my head and finally got it out. I’m glad you liked it. Poetry is really unknown territory for me. I feel like I’m walking in a pitch-black room, hands outstretched, trying not to trip over anything when I’m writing poems. Does it ever get any easier?

  1. That is rather depressing. You sound like a puppy dog whose beloved owner has gone away.   “It is never too late to be what you might have been.” George EliotThe secret to joy in work is contained in one word….abstinence.Jim

  2. I might be a bit of a sadist, but I love poems birthed out of depression. Never saw the point in dampering an exquisitely dark fettle. Great poem!

  3. Love it. Poetry is special to everyone. It is an individual thing. We can all read the same poem and yet hear it in our heads and hearts a different way. Thats why I think the only true gage if a poem is good or not is if it made it to the readers thoughts and emotions or not.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • I’m still getting used to how wordpress works (I guess) and I know I got the notification, but I don’t know why I hadn’t found this until now–all apologies, but thank you so much! 🙂

  4. Awesome poetry my friend. THanks for checking out my poem as well! I gotta ask, how do you get so much traffic to your blog? I’m trying to build mine up to share my poetry/stories with the world and I’m open to all advice. I love your layout by the way
